July 24, 2025

I was chatting with my neighbour, Paul, this morning

thanking him for the swing chair he gave us last year

he sees many things that I also see

and sees many more that I do not

(as do another neighbour, and my oldest son)

we agreed that these were angry days

that, unless a miracle were to happen,

these days could become incredibly worse

I pray for that miracle, often

for our leaders and for those who protect us

(like my neighbour, like my other neighbour,

and like my oldest son)

knowing full well we must rely on grace

as justice, much deserved, would be harsh

yet standing beneath God's clear blue sky

chatting with a friendly neighbour

my pup, Chester, carousing at our feet

alive beneath His eternal sacrifice

I already know far more of grace

than any man has right to expect

Undeserving of Grace
